Sofia Giasoumi

Sofia Giasoumi is a Researcher I at Significance with a Master’s degree in Transport and Planning from TU Delft and a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from Cyprus University of Technology. She specializes in freight and logistics modelling, with a focus on optimizing transport efficiency, routing, and urban/regional planning through advanced modelling techniques and data-driven insights. Sofia has contributed to key projects including the development of estimation methods and various modules for the Dubai Freight model, a port choice model prototype for the Dutch freight transport model BasGoed, and a dynamic waste collection scheduling and routing model for Rotterdam. She has also worked on the AEOLUS air transport demand model and population synthesis for the Flanders ABM.
