Barry Zondag is the Managing Director of Significance and holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from Delft University of Technology. With extensive experience in passenger and freight transport modelling and forecasting, land-use modelling, and policy analysis, Barry has made significant contributions to the field. He has worked for renowned organizations such as Hague Consulting Group, RAND Europe, Delft University of Technology and Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency PBL. Barry’s main areas of interest include integrative land-use and transport modelling, multimodal passenger demand models, scenario development, accessibility evaluation and cost-benefit analysis. He is particularly skilled in model design, reviewing model systems and managing large-scale model development projects. As the principal developer of the TIGRIS XL model, a land-use and transport interaction model for the Netherlands, Barry is a key expert in this field. Throughout his career he has been involved in international projects in Europe and Asia, showing his international perspective and interest. He has also served on the board of directors for the Association of European Transport.
