Multimodal models

Multimodal transport models depict the competition between modes of transport (such as car as driver and as passenger, train, bus/tram/metro, cycling and walking). Regional, national and international authorities use such models for forecasting future transport flows and for simulating the impact of policy measures.

In The Netherlands

Developing and applying multimodal models is Significance’s core activity.  The present version of the national and regional multimodal models for the Dutch Ministry of Transport were estimated and programmed by Significance.

International

Significance is very active in this area, also outside The Netherlands. We were and/or are involved in the strategic model for Flanders, the Antonin model for the Paris region, the national model for Austria and various other multimodal models.
